The Sparkling Secret: My 3-Ingredient Floor Cleaner That Brought My Tiles Back to Life.

Vinegar is often recommended as a universal floor cleaner, but it is not suitable for every surface.

Its acidity can damage natural stone and may also affect certain grout, sealers, or glazed finishes over time.

Because floors can contain more than one material, a vinegar solution may touch grout, stone trim, metal transitions, or other sensitive areas even when the main tile appears durable.

A mild cleaner is the safer routine choice unless the tile manufacturer specifically approves an acidic product.

Never Mix Vinegar and Hydrogen Peroxide

Some homemade recipes recommend cleaning with vinegar and then spraying hydrogen peroxide over the same wet area.

That is not a good idea.

Acetic acid from vinegar and hydrogen peroxide can form peracetic acid, which may irritate the eyes, skin, throat, and respiratory system.

Do not mix them in a bottle, bowl, bucket, or directly on the floor.

Also avoid mixing any household cleaner unless the product labels specifically say the combination is safe.
